Abstract

1536728 Valves ROCKWELL INTERNATIONAL CORP 2 Aug 1976 [17 Sept 1975 (3)] 32069/76 Heading F2V In a rotary ball valve having an all-plastics housing rubber seats 26, 28, which are held by polypropylene retainers 30, 32, are preloaded against the ball 14 when the housing end sections 18, 20 are fused at annular and axially oversized surfaces 22, 24 to the main housing section 13. The abutting radial and axial surfaces of the retainers and the end and main housing sections ensure the correct alignment of the housing portions during fusing. One end section may be integral with the main section. The stem 70 is driven by a wrench adaptor 92, shear pin 94 and a cap 74, which has a driving connection with the stem and is snap-fitted over the projection 80 on the housing. An O- ring 84 acts as a check valve to seal a vent passage through the co-operating projections 78, 82.
