Abstract
1535257 Frame connectors RCM EQUIPMENT Ltd 26 April 1977 [27 April 1976] 17027/76 Heading F2M [Also in Division F4] A ventilating grille, diffuser or register comprises a polygonal, e.g. rectangular frame, having walls 2, 3 connected at the corners of the frame by connectors 8 having mutually inclined arms received in respective channels 6 of adjacent walls 2, 3, wherein the arms each have localized protrusions engaging the respective channel surface to retain the arm in the respective channel. The protrusions may be spaced bumps or ridges in one surface of each arm, which can be formed by localized depression of the opposite surface of the arm, or tongues bent from each arm. The channels 6 are defined by L-shaped projections 5 upstanding from flanges (4, Fig. 1) of main panels 2<1>, 31 of the walls 2, 3, the flanges (4) being mitred at the corners of the frame. Additional corner connectors 11, which may also have protrusions, are engaged in further channels between the panels 2<1>, 3<1> and the next adjacent projections 5. Spring metal corner clips 10 are also provided. The walls 2, 3 are aluminium extrusions. The connectors 8 are made of aluminium.
