Abstract

1534800 Chaff cutter MASCHINENFABRIK FAHR AG GOTTMADINGEN 16 March 1976 [28 June 1975] 10392/76 Heading A1F [Also in Division A4] A chaff cutter attachment for a combine harvester 10 comprises at least two rotatable cutter shafts 12, 13 having cutting blades 17 co-operable with stationary counter cutters 20. Straw is fed from shakers 23 via a chute 24 to the chaff cutter which together with a throwing disc 25 ensures, a wide distribution of cut chaff. The distribution of the chaff is controlled by the pivoting of a part-conical plate 28 about a universal joint 29, and additional control of the distribution area is possible by pivoting vertically the entire chaff cutter with respect to the harvester 10. The cutter may be by-passed, and the straw fed uncut to the ground by tilting the chute 24 (Fig 1).
