Abstract

1533972 Lining pipes ENGLISH CLAYS LOVERING POCHIN & CO Ltd 19 Nov 1975 [21 Nov 1974 (2)] 50585/74 and 50587/74 Heading B2L In the lining of pipes, particularly steel pipes with polyurethane, by distributing the lining material in liq. form along the inside of the pipe and then spinning the pipe to distribute the material therewithin by centrifugal force, the pipes are temporarily straightened whilst being spun by supporting the pipes by means of collars in three or more sets of rollers spaced along the pipe. As shown in Fig. 2 each set comprises a pair of driven rollers 10B, 11B mounted on a rigid frame 20 and a pair of rotatable rollers 12B, 13B mounted so as to be movable towards and away from the pipe 15 on arms 24 pivoted at 25 on frame 20, the other end of the arms 24 being connected to hydraulic jacks 30 so that pressure may be applied to straighten the pipe. The pipe is encircled by annular collars formed of arcuate segments 35, 36 and 37 on which the rollers bear. The lining is cured by blowing hot air through the pipe.
