Abstract

1532576 Automatic control; zoom lens constructions JOS SCHNEIDER & OPTISCHE WERKE 14 Feb 1977 [19 March 1976] 06019/77 Headings G2J and G3N A lens system comprises a front lens group 17, axially movable by a drive device 27 for the purpose of focusing, a lens group 1, movable by a drive device 5 to change focal length, and a further lens group 2, which is movable by a drive device 6 to hold the position of an image constant, Finally, there is a main lens 18 in front of which is positioned a diaphragm 20, with a drive device 28. The drive devices are controlled via a semiconductor memory 3, such as a PROM, or a mask programmable ROM which contains data dependent on the position of lens groups 1, 2 and/or the position of lens group 17 for different range settings and/or the position of the diaphragm 20. Facilities are provided for pre-setting the duration of a focal length change and pre-programming focal length and/or range. In an alternative embodiment, only the lens groups 1, 2 and the diaphragm 20 are adjusted and a plurality of memories are provided for storing the more complex range and focal length data.
