Abstract

After introducing the toxic wastewaters (A) into the plant, these are preheated (4), concentrated by evaporation (5) and spray-dried (6) in the hot exhaust gas stream of a combustion plant (1). The exhaust gas stream loaded with solid waste materials is purified in the dry (7) and wet (8) state and discharged (24) into the atmosphere. Particularly toxic wastewaters (A1) are detoxified (21) prior to the introduction (A). The dry matter (D) separated off in the solid separator (7) can be landfilled and the cooled condensate (17, 20) can be discharged into an outfall (22). In the case of multiple-stage evaporation (5), the vapours are used for heating downstream evaporator stages (10), while the first evaporator stage (9) is heated by the hot exhaust gases from the waste-heat boiler (2) of the combustion plant (1). The process is suitable in particular for treating wastewaters from thermal power stations, refuse incineration plants and works in the electrolytic sector and chemistry. <IMAGE>
