Abstract

The bearing block consists of a support piece (1) having a horizontal hinge pin (2) for the lavatory seat and having a fixing part (13) which can be fixed to the lavatory bowl with a top plate (4) at the upper end. The top plate (4) engages in an elongate recess on the underside of the support piece (1) and is displaceable in the recess along the two side walls (5, 6) of the recess extending parallel to the axial direction of the hinge pin (2). The edge faces (7, 8) of the top plate (4) facing the side walls (5, 6) are bevelled from the top downwards and inwards, and one of the two side walls (6) is also of oblique design in the same manner. Arranged parallel to the other side wall (5) of the recess in the support piece (1) is a rotatable bolt (9) which is flattened on one side and whose non-flattened circumferential part emerges from this side wall (5) by turning the bolt (9) and rests against the facing end face (7) of the top plate (4). The top plate (4) can thus be clamped between the bolt (9) and the bevelled side wall (6) of the recess against displacement therein and removal therefrom. By turning the bolt (9) back, the top plate (4) can be unlocked and the support piece (1) can be raised from the top plate (4) of the fixing part (13). <IMAGE>
