Abstract

1528736 Safety spectacle frames MARWITZ & HAUSER KG 20 May 1977 [22 May 1976] 21492/77 Heading G2 A frame for safety spectacles comprises:- (i) an inner reinforcing frame member of hard flexible plastics extending from hinge to hinge via the nose bridge and at least the upper rims (ii) hinges whose base-plates are secured to the reinforcing member (iii) an outer frame member which is composed of polyurethane closed cell foam and which completely surrounds the reinforcing member, and which furnishes the lens rims and lens retaining grooves. The reinforcing member may pass both round the upper and lower rims, but in the case the upper and lower portions are not joined together with the nose bridge.
