Abstract

1528715 Anticorrosion etching primer DAI NIPPON TORYO CO Ltd 18 March 1977 [31 March 1976 27 April 1976 10 May 1976 9 Feb 1977 10 Feb 1977 (2)] 11580/77 Heading C3V The composition comprises, dissolved in a suitable vehicle, (i) a polyvinyl butyral resin, (ii) an organo-functional silane, (iii) an inorganic borate and/or polyphosphate compound, and (iv) phosphoric acid. The silane can be an aminoalkyl silane, an ethylenically unsaturated silane or an epoxyalkyl silane and exemplified silanes are epoxycyclohexylethyl trimethoxysilane, and γ-glycidoxy- and γ-methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane. The binder component may also comprise a phenolic resin. A metal powder may also be incorporated so as to enable the composition to be used in the electroprint marking process.
