Abstract
1527991 Dynamo-electric machines M H LAMEYER 18 Sept 1975 [19 Sept 1974] 38394/75 Heading H2A In an electric motor comprising a plurality of radially disposed rotor electromagnets 48 and non-radially disposed stator electromagnets 62, all of the electromagnets are intermittently energized so that an output torque is produced as a result of repulsion forces between the rotor and stator electromagnets. There may be two axially spaced groups of rotor electromagnets co-operating with respective groups of stator electromagnets. Energization of the electromagnets is controlled in dependence on rotor position. The motor is intended for use in vehicles and is initially brought up to a suitable idling speed by a starter motor.
