Abstract

1527987 Tanker vehicle loading R MURFITT Ltd 11 May 1976 [19 May 1975] 21182/75 Heading B8E The tank 1 of a tanker vehicle has in its top a charging inlet 2, connected to a pipe 3, and an exhaust outlet 6 while a pressurized pipe 24 leads to an inlet at the base of the tank adjacent its outlet to provide fluidizing means. A blower/ vacuum pump 7 provides pressure to the pipe 24 and through a valve 14 and filters 9, 10 suction to the outlet 6. To load the tank 1 with the pipe 3 connected to an external source of material 4 the valve 14 is set to connect the pipes 11, 13 and a valve 31 is opened to exhaust 30 so that material is sucked through the inlet 2. For discharge the valve 31 is closed and 14 is set to connect an intake 20 to the pump so that air under pressure is supplied to the fluidizing means to assist discharge. The filters 9, 10 may be a continuously self-cleaning type or may require back pressure for cleansing which can be supplied through a pipe 27 when a valve 28 is opened.
