1527816 Applying closure capsules LINDNER INDUSTRIE BV 10 June 1976 [12 June 1975] 24070/76 Heading B8T A preformed metal capsule 5 is pressed downwards against the mouth of a vessel by a downwardly moving hollow die 9 having a bevelled inner surface 10 engaging the capsule, such that the capsule seals against the edge 1 between the top 2 and the cylindrical surface 3 of the vessel and a conical transition portion is formed between the top 2 and the portion engaging the external screw thread of the vessel. A screw thread to match the external screw thread of the vessel is then impressed into the skirt of the capsule.
