Walls; double walls. - In reinforced-concrete cavity walls or the like, in which the blocks are formed with one or more vertical webs projecting into the cavity, and having reinforced columns with or without horizontal reinforcements within the wall, means are provided for holding up at any required level a mass of new concrete or wall-filling to form beams or girdering within the wall. Fig. 3 shows metal plates f adapted to hold up the concrete about the horizontal reinforcements; the plates may be ribbed or corrugated. As shown in Fig. 4, the blocks a themselves are provided with horizontal webs forming a ledge. The metal plates f may be replaced by a strip to cover two or more cavities. The means employed may, if desired, be level with the top of the blocks, in which case the horizontal reinforcements would rest on the top of the vertical webs b and not in grooves e.
