Abstract
1527559 Anti-skid braking systems GENERAL MOTORS CORP 10 Nov 1976 [20 Nov 1975] 46754/76 Heading F2F Voltage signals proportional to wheel speed are differentiated by a circuit 28, 30, 32 to provide a first signal to point 34, and are also supplied to a circuit comprising diode 42, capacitor 38 and resistor 40, which produces a second signal to point 34. On rapid deceleration of the wheel, the second signal has a delay rate, e.g. representative of deceleration on a low friction surface, which provides a reference for anti-skid control. The two signals are summed and the output used as an anti-skid control signal. As described they are integrated by circuit 46 to provide a speed error signal, and the brakes are released when this signal is greater than a reference signal fed to the negative input of comparator 64. This reference signal has a fixed component from source B+, via resistor 72 and a variable element generated by circuit 78 so that a greater reference signal is produced during the first cycle of anti-skid operation, e.g. to allow for the effect of axle wrap.
