Abstract

1526573 Vehicle warning light systems CHRYSLER UNITED KINGDOM Ltd 3 March 1977 [2 April 1976] 13468/76 Heading H2H A vehicle warning light system comprises a door lock operated switch 12, an interior light 14, a "handbrake on" warning light 15 and switches 20, 27 which permit the interior light alone to be illuminated and permit the warning light to be illuminated with or without the interior light when the handbrake is applied. A brake failure warning light 16 is connected to a switch 21 which is closed in the event of partial failure of the dual braking system. When the vehicle door is locked, the switch 12 is opened to prevent illumination of any of the lights. When the door is unlocked, and assuming that the handbrake is on so that the switch 20 is closed, all three lights are switched on if the switch 27 is in its indicated position. On releasing the handbrake, the lights are extinguished but the light 14 may be illuminated by moving the switch 27 to its third position. In a modification, the interior lamp 14 is switched off when the ignition is switched on.
