Abstract

The appliance contains a feed device (10) for feeding in pulverulent polyelectrolytes and for conditioning and sizing the same, means (28, 30) for supplying compressed air, means (26, 28) for atomising the polyelectrolytes by means of compressed air, means (34, 38) for feeding in water, a mixing and wetting chamber (32) for wetting the atomised polyelectrolytes and a mixing vessel (54) for ageing the polyelectrolytes. There is further present a device for predrying the supplied compressed air, consisting of two drying chambers (94, 96) which contain regenerable drying material and which each have a heating element (100, 102) and a port to the atmosphere, a blower (104), a valve (98) by means of which the two chambers (94, 96) can be optionally connected to the means (26, 28) or to the blower (104), and a control device (106) for setting the valve (98). <IMAGE>
