Abstract

1523933 Bag closures DECOFLEX Ltd 7 July 1976 [10 July 1975] 29036/75 Heading B8K A bag comprises a pocket part 2a, 2b, a flap part 7 capable of being folded over the mouth of the pocket part, and an adhesive strip 8 secured to the bag and comprising a band of adhesive 8a and a covering barrier sheet which is removable to permit the band 8a to secure the flap part to the pocket part when the former is folded on to the latter to retain the bag closed. The side edges of the pocket and the shorter side of the bag adjacent the mouth are provided with security printing 9, 10 which is destroyed or distorted when the bag is opened, so as to indicate tampering. As described the bag is formed by folding a web of polyethylene at 2 and heat-sealing edges 4, 5. A label 6 is affixed to the bag, or an area of printing ink receptive to writing is applied. The adhesive band may be a strip of tissue impregnated, or coated on both sides, with adhesive, and the cover barrier strip is wider than the adhesive band of the same material as the bag. The adhesive band may be on the flap, as shown, or on the bag wall adjacent the mouth. The bag may have perforations 10a.
