Abstract

152,351. Glanzfõden Akt.-Ges. Aug. 15, 1918, [Convention date]. Addition to 135,205. Cellulose xanthates, and processes for making filaments from. - Reducing-substances such as cane-sugar are added, to prevent oxidation of the cellulose, during the preparation of the spinning solutions of the parent Specification, and which consists of an un-ripened viscose prepared from an incompletely-hydrated alkali cellulose. The reducing-substance is most effective when added to the weak lye used for dissolving the xanthogenate. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that reducing-substances are formed after repeated re-use of the caustic alkali bath' in which the cellulose is first immersed. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
