Abstract
1522124 Dye-jet printing; dye collector slaves MILLIKEN RESEARCH CORP 21 Feb 1977 [23 Feb 1976] 07228/77 Heading B6C Dye-jet printer of the type described in U.K. Specification No. 1,446,700 is provided with a series of three parallel vertically-spaced plates 86, 80 and 88 progressively off-set from the axes D of the dye outlets 42 so as to prevent deflected dye from falling onto the carpet or fabric. In use, the upper plate 86 and middle plate 80 direct dye into a collection chamber (60) [Fig. 5 (not shown)], plate 80 collecting dye falling from plate 86. Lower plate 88 collects dye falling from the middle plate and either directs the dye into the chamber (Fig. 5) or over the edges of the substrate [Fig. 3 (not shown)].
