Abstract
1519787 Measuring electrical power GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 9 Sept 1975 [13 Sept 1974 6 Nov 1974] 37022/75 Heading G1U In a single-phase, three-wire power system, "live" 11, 13 and neutral 12, power is measured by multiplying the currents in the two "live" wires by the voltage thereacross, in a pulse width-andamplitude modulator. In Fig. 1, where the loads Z 1 , Z 2 have power factors approximately equal, the currents are summed in a transformer 17 and fed to a multiplier of the type described in Specifications 1474236 and 1477207 (Division G1). Where the power factors are different, the currents are multiplied independently and then combined as in the above Specifications.
