Abstract

1519383 Electric coupling TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON 3 March 1976 [13 March 1975] 08580/76 Heading H2E A cable clip has a slot 3 for receiving a core of a cable, an opening 2 with converging sides which join the sides of the slot and one or more pairs of opposed teeth 5 on the sides of the opening which cut into the insulation of the cable so that the core may contact the sides of the slot. The teeth may be square cornered, or pointed as shown, angles A and B being about 60 and 10 degrees respectively it being found that with these angles, insertion of the cable does not tend to force the slot open. The clip may be a flat metal plate as shown, or U-shaped with openings and slots cut in each arm from the base of the U (Figs, 3, 4, not shown). The slot in one arm of the U may be narrower than that in the other to accommodate a range of core sizes. A double clip may be formed, having two sets of slots and openings side by side in a U- shaped plate and the slots in one arm may be longer than those in the other arm so that the cable is truncated at the shorter slit when pushed into the clip by a U-shaped tool of suitable size.
