Abstract
1517608 Silver oxidation catalyst TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP 13 Oct 1976 [29 Dec 1975 16 June 1976] 42470/76 Heading B1E [Also in Division C2] A supported silver-containing catalyst for ethylene epoxidation is made by impregnating a porous, inorganic, catalyst support with a solution of a silver carboxylate/amine complex comprising a silver carboxylate dissolved in a complexing agent selected from (a) aliphatic diamines with at least one primary or secondary amino group but no more than one primary amino group, (b) aliphatic polyamines containing at least three amino groups at least one of which is primary or secondary and (c) aliphatic amino ethers containing at least one ether linkage and at least one primary or secondary amino group, drying the impregnated support at 50-150‹C and heating the dried support at 200-300‹C to decompose the complex and activate the catalyst.
