Abstract

The hair-curler comprises a handle (2) and a curling rod (which is not shown in the figure) in which a heating element and a sensor are provided. The sensor comprises a sensor tube (12) in which a rod (13) is accommodated. A switch (19) switches the current of the electrical heating element on or off. In order to set the in each case desired final temperature of the hair-curler from the outside, the sensor tube (12) is provided with a relatively large coefficient of thermal expansion and the rod (13) is provided with a relatively small coefficient of thermal expansion, the sensor tube (12) being in engagement at at least one point with the rod (13) and being firmly clamped at another point in such a manner that the rod (13) is moved within the sensor tube (12) by the sensor tube (12) being expanded or retracted on changes in temperature and transmits said movements via a presettable mechanism (8, 24, 22, 25, 17) by means of the switch (19), said mechanism (8, 24, 22, 25, 17) having an adjusting device (8) which partly projects into the handle (2) of the hair-curler and partly projects therefrom. <IMAGE>
