Abstract

1516370 Winding yarn CENTRALNY OSRODEK BADAWCZO - ROZWOJOWY MASZYN WLOKIENNICZYCH "CENTMATEX" 1 Nov 1975 45595/75 Headings DID and D1T To wind a cross-wound cone, yarn is fed at constant speed from a work station, the cone is rotated by a friction drive element, the running yarn is continuously and temporarily stored in a receptacle, the amount of yarn filling the receptacle is measured, and the speed of winding is controlled in accordance with deviations from the filling of the receptacle. Yarn is fed from spinning chamber 2, Fig. 1, through delivery rollers 1 into evacuated chamber 4 where the yarn is laid into adjoining loops, Fig. 2, between openings 7. The yarn then passes through yarn brake 11 and cleaner 12 and is traversed by guide 13 onto conical package 15 rotated by point contact with one of a succession of conical sections of common shaft 14, Fig. 3. Package 15 is mounted on spindle 17 carried by arm 19 pivotable upwards on shaft 20. Spindle 17 is carried on arm 19 by slider 18 reciprocable by pneumatic ram b. A change in the amount of yarn stored in chamber 4 is sensed by pressure sensor 8, or by two capacitor plates (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown), or by a light source and photo-element (Figs. 6 and 7) not shown, which control the air supply to pneumatic ram b to thereby move the contact point of the package with a conical section of shaft 14 to speed up or slow the package. Alternatively, Fig. 3, when the amount of yarn in chamber 4 increases, pneumatic pulses are not delivered to chamber 24 from b, and pressure in ram chamber 28 pivots lever 38 about pivot 36 to remove brake 40 from spindle 17. Lever 38 then contacts belt 42 and lever 37 is pivoted downwards so that the package is rotated. If the amount of yarn decreases, pressure pulses sent periodically to chamber 24 pivots lever 38, applies brake 40 and pivots lever 37 upwards so that the package is not rotated.
