Abstract

1515841 Pipe couplings JAMES HARDIE & COY PTY Ltd 3 May 1977 [6 May 1976] 18579/77 Heading F2G A pipe coupling comprises two halves 7 (one shown in Fig. 1) which are clamped together in encirclement of a pair of coaxial pipe ends, each half having a resilient sealing member (Fig. 3), which member when unstressed consists of a rectangular frame with two circular section arch portions 6 which are bent to semicircular form in use, and two square section bridge portions 5 adjoining the ends of the arch portions 6, and each half includes two semicircumferential grooves 8 to house the arch portions 6, a seating 10 for the bridge portions 5 and stubs 12 which retain the bridge portions clear of the enclosed pipe ends.
