Abstract
1515211 Trisodium phosphate BENCKISERKNAPSACK GmbH 7 Jan 1976 [8 Jan 1975] 469/76 Heading C1A In a process for the production of trisodium phosphate by neutralising phosphoric acid with caustic soda, wherein phosphoric acid is added in a constant amount per unit time to recycled mother liquor, the amount of recycled mother liquor also being maintained constant per unit time, the mixture of phosphoric acid and recycled mother liquor is mixed with caustic soda in an amount at least stoichiometric with respect to the added phosphoric acid, the suspension thus formed is then maintained by controlled evaporation at a substantially constant conversion temperature above the conversion point of Na 3 PO 4 .8H 2 O to Na 3 PO 4 .6H 2 O to form a trisodium phosphate product, the heat of neutralization of the phosphoric acid with caustic soda supplying the heat for the evaporation, and the trisodium phosphate is separated from the mother liquor and the latter is recycled.
