Abstract

1514742 Semi-conductor devices ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 21 May 1975 [30 Nov 1974] 21698/75 Heading H1K An electronic switching device for I.C. engines comprises a housing 1 which serves as a heat sink for the device, and a power semi-conductor component in good thermal but electrically insulating contact with the outside of the housing 1 and including a component-housing 2 with a part for attaching it to the housing 1, wherein a protective layer 5 extends over the component-housing 2, the part for attaching it to the housing 1, and over the surface of the housing 1 around the power component. The protective layer may be a lacquer and may be covered by a plastics hood (not shown) which has a shoulder and an elastic sealing lip and is attached to the housing 1 by a variety of alternative means such as nuts and bolts, a bayonet joint, spring hooks, spring clips, &c. The power component may be a transistor.
