1512987 Railway track ramps for ejecting brake skids G RINER 4 July 1975 [16 July 1974] 28191/75 Heading E1G In a railway track for use with a braking system (e.g. in a shunting yard) in which a brake skid or drag shoe is placed on a rail to receive a vehicle wheel and slide along with it until the vehicle is halted, the outer edge of the rail head 6 adjacent a crossing or points is provided with a ramp such as 2 Fig. 1 or 24, Fig. 4, leading from the lower edge of the rail head to the level of its top surface, the ramp serving to lift the outer depending flange of any moving drag shoe and thus turn it inwardly off the rail before it can foul the points.
