Abstract

1512939 Change-speed control; linkwork MAGIRUS-DEUTZ AG 4 Feb 1977 [7 Feb 1976] 04726/77 Headings F2D and F2K In the linkage between the gear lever and gearbox of a vehicle having a tiltable driver's cab a telescopic link is provided, a locking bar 14, held in slots in inner and outer members 13, 10 of the link by springs 19 acting through rods 15, connecting the inner and outer members together for the transmission of axial movement and a part of the floor of the cab (23) (Fig. 6, not shown) engaging a bar 18 to disengage the locking bar 14 when the cab is tilted. The gear lever has a ball joint 2 engaged in a socket in the floor of the cab and an extension 4 engages in a fork provided on the outer member 10. The outer member 10 has a tube 6 fixed to it, this being the inner member of a telescopic rod 3, and the inner member 13 is fixed to the outer tube 8 of rod 3. An intermediate telescopic member 7 is also provided. A wedging surface of inner member 13 facilitates reengagement of the locking device. The members 10 and 13 have splines 12 for the transmission of rotary movement.
