Abstract
1512807 Liquid meters; level indicators W JANSKY TANK-U APPARATEBAU 31 July 1975 [2 Aug 1974] 31979/75 Headings G1H and G1R A milk meter comprises a tank 1 having a body 13 fixed within it with clearance between its periphery and the tank wall allowing a flow of milk past it which is large relative that capable of flowing through an aperture 15 housing a float 17 controlling starting and stopping of milk flow from the tank through a meter 6. Milk flowing from a pump 4 into the tank through a pipe 3 rises to operate the float 17 which causes closure of a vent 21 so that further inflow pressurizes the tank. At a certain pressure, a non-return valve 7 opens and milk flows out past the meter. When milk inflow from the pump ceases, the float 17 falls and the vent 21 opens. The non-return valve 7 closes and measurement ends. The float 17 is connected to a sight indicator 19 by a rod.
