Abstract
1512565 Flotation BERGWERKSVERBAND GmbH 22 April 1975 [27 April 1974] 16528/75 Heading C IC [Also in Divisions B and B2] In a froth flotation process a gas is introduced into the slurry before the slurry is introduced into a vessel 12 in which the foam is separated from the remainder of the slurry. Sewage is treated to render the solids liquid repellent in a vessel 1 and is pumped to the vessel 12 through a device 7 for introducing a gas into the slurry. The device 7 may comprise a member 30 having gas-permeable walls located between members 32 and 35 within a tube 38. Gas introduced through a pipe 9 into the member 30 passes through the permeable walls and into the slurry flowing through the tube 38. Additionally, or alternatively, the tube 38 may be provided with a gas-permeable wall. The gaspermeable walls may be formed of sintered metal or ceramic material or may be constituted by an orificed plate.
