Abstract

1512557 Segmented copolymers BAYER AG 29 Oct 1975 [5 Dec 1974] 44589/75 Heading C3P Poly-segmented copolymers are obtained by reaction of a sulphur chloride with a block copolymer of idealized form Sx-By in which S is a unit delivered from styrene or a substituted styrene, B is a unit derived from a conjugated diene, and x and y are integers. The starting copolymer may be prepared by anionic polymerization, and may or may not be deactivated prior to the above reaction, as desired. In Examples the starting copolymers are di-block styrene/butadiene, styrene/isoprene and styrene/butadiene-isoprene copolymers.
