Abstract

1512256 Filter aids HOLSTEIN UND KAPPERT AG 17 July 1975 [17 July 1974] 30135/75 Heading B1D Filter aid is applied to filter surfaces in a pressure filter using a carrier liquid enriched with an inert gas. Liquid is filtered upwardly in filter 1 and 2 through filter elements 4 suspended from support 3. A filter aid dosaging tank 8 with pump 9 first supplies filter aid to coat the elements 4. Liquid to be filtered is pumped by pump 6 thereafter during which filtration further dosing with filter aid may take place through pump 9; filtrate may be used through line 10 as the carrier liquid for this further addition. The inert gas is injected at above atmospheric pressure through lines 13 and 11. The filter elements may be back flushed with water.
