Roller bearings. - Bearing rollers with unsymmetrical curved surfaces 8 are so shaped that the moment of inertia about the normal axis of rotation 5 is equal to or greater than the moment of inertia about an axis passing through the geometrical centre 3 at right-angles to the axis 5, increased by the product of the mass of the roller and the square of the distance between the centre of gravity 2 and the point 3. The geometrical centre 3 is the centre of the circle forming the locus of the centres of curvature 7 of the surface of the roller. The roller may be rendered unsymmetrical by a cavity in one end,
