Abstract

The system is to be applied to the skin in the form of a plaster. It comprises a top layer impermeable to the medicament, a medicament reservoir layer, a microporous membrane and a contact adhesive layer. The reservoir layer comprises 0.2 to 3 mg of medicament, especially scopolamine, as a dispersion in a gel of mineral oil and polyisobutene; the contact adhesive layer comprises a corresponding gel which ensures that a loading dose is dispensed. The parameters, e.g. concentration in the gel and consistency of the membrane, are chosen such that the medicament is released at a constant rate after dispensing the initial loading dose. The system is produced by applying the different layers one on top of the other and by laminating the four-layered product.
