Abstract

1510626 Racquet handle J BAXTER 3 July 1975 [5 July 1974] 29920/74 Heading A6D A handle for a games racquet comprises a hollow shaft portion 3 with a - dividing member 9 extending to a point situated within a hollow gripped portion 4, of the handle, the shaft having perforations 5 and the dividing member 9 serving to guide air entering the shaft through said perforations towards the gripped portion 4 which is provided with holes 8 through which the air can flow. Deflectors 6 may be provided to deflect air towards the gripped portion 4 and tubes 11 having obliquely cut ends may be located in the holes 8. The holes 8 conveniently communicate with the bottom of a groove or grooves 7 and the deflectors 6 may conveniently be formed by bending down the portion of material cut out to produce the perforations 5. The handle may be manufactured from sheet metal or glass fibre reinforced plastics material and may be internally braced.
