Abstract

151,046. Fisher, S., and Priddey, W. May 13, 1919. Couplings, disconnectible; rod couplings. -A coupling - device which is adapted to be readily connected and disconnected and is applicable to the joints of pipes for water, gas, or steam, for radiator tubes, for rods or shafts, or for securing a bar within a socket, is constructed with a screwed locking member as c which screws on to an external thread d on one member of the coupling, and is formed with a flange m which acts on two lugs g on the second member b of the coupling. The flange m is formed with two slots to enable the parts a, b to be assembled, and the joint is completed by giving less than half a turn to the locking-nut c. The threaded part d is formed with slots e which receive the lugs g and prevent relative rotation between the members a, b during the locking action.
