Abstract

1510384 Blush lacquer layer overlaid with adhesive C R WARDWELL 21 Oct 1975 43189/75 Heading B2E [Also in Divisions B5 and B8] A layer of adhesive material 22, e.g. ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer is attached to a substrate 12, e.g. of paper, by a layer of blush lacquer 20 formed of film forming resin containing voids so that when the adhesive material is bonded to the surface of a closure member 14 and the surface and substrate are pulled apart, the layer of blush lacquer fails internally in preference to the other components of the system. The adhesive material is preferably heat seal material. The blush lacquer may be formed of cellulosic resins, examples of which are given.
