Abstract
1510341 Rotary positive-displacement fluid-machines EATON CORP 17 April 1975 [17 April 1974] 11049/75 Heading F1F In an hydraulic motor, or pump, of the gerotor type, Figs. 1 to 3, recesses 143, 145, 147, 149, 151, 153, 155 are formed in a surface 125 of a fixed plate 15 abutting a stationary outer gerotormember 23 and are connected to an outlet, or inlet, port 77 for low-pressure working-fluid so as to reduce the areas of said surface and the adjacent surface 121 of the member 23 subjected to the pressure of working fluid leaking from the chambers between the member 23 and the co-operating rotary member 27 and tending to increase the separation of said surfaces. An annular land 173 on the plate 15 lies between the recesses and the chambers. A groove 137 for a sealing ring interconnects the recesses. A similar pressure-reducing system is provided in a fixed valve-plate 19, the two sets of recesses being interconnected by a passage 171. The machine may be modified for use as a metering device in an hydraulic powerassisted steering system, Figs. 8 to 10, sealing-ring grooves 277, 279, 281 and pressure-reducing grooves 283, 285, 287 being formed in fixed members 205, 209 abutting the stationary outer gerotor-member 227. The grooves 283, 285, 287 are connected to the exhaust port by way of clearance gaps 291 circumjacent bolts 211, a groove 301 in the member 205, and a bore 303 in a valve member 215. A further pressure-reducing groove 299 may be formed in the plate 205 on the radially inner side of the chambers between the gerotor members.
