Abstract
1509701 Colour television tubes PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 13 Jan 1977 [16 Jan 1976] 1303/77 Heading H1D A past-deflection focusing shadow-mask assembly for a colour television tube is manufactured from metal plates secured together with the interposition of insulation material, at least one of the plates being provided with a plurality of parallel troughs and ridges prior to assembly, the thinner regions of the plate constituted by the troughs being removed after assembly. Two ridged plates 25, Fig. 9, each having its ridges 13 coated with glass 19 may be secured together, etching through of the troughs thereafter providing the structure of Fig. 10, or a ridged plate may be secured to an apertured plate (33, Fig. 16a, not shown), or a ridged plate may be secured to either side of an apertured plate, all of which arrangements provide quadrupolar lenses. The insulator may alternatively be polyimide secured to the plates by adhesive, or an oxidized layer on a plate of aluminium.
