Abstract
1507976 Bronzes; gas purification catalyst JOHNSON MATTHEY & CO Ltd 24 Feb 1975 [4 March 1974] 9684/74 Heading CIA [Also in Division B1] A catalyst suitable for the purification of air and other gaseous medium comprises (1) a bronze of formula A x BO y , where A = alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, rare earth metal, Pb, Tl, Cu, NH 4 , Ag, Ni or H, B=Pt, Ti, V, Nb, Mo, Ta, W or Re, O < x#2, and y = 2 to 3, and (2) a support material. In the examples the bronzes are H x WO 2À8 (x<0À5), Na 0À9 WO 3À4 and H 1À6 MoO 3 , and are supported on extended metal substrates; they are employed for the decomposition of NO in a carrier stream of N 2 . Other specific embodiments mentioned are Ba 0À5 WO 3 , Na 0À5 WO 3 , H 0À5 WO 3 and Ni 0À25 PtO 3 .
