Abstract

1507915 Reinforcements for the tapes of sliding clasp fasteners YOSHIDA KOGYO KK 2 April 1975 [6 April 1974] 13407/75 Heading E2S A reinforcing sheet 13 of flexible material, such as nylon 6 is thermally fused to the bottom portion of each tape 10 by means of an intermediate thermoplastic layer 14 in the form of a film of ionomer, or the copolymer of polyethylene and vinyl acetate, the base and pin of a separable coupling 12 being mounted in the conventional manner, on the respective tapes 10, 10. The sheet 13, when made of nylon 6, can be first laminated to the film 14 and then fused to a tape, the laminate being transparent or semi - transparent. In a modification, Fig. 3, the laminate 13, 14 is fused to the tape by means of a third layer of highly adhesive resin 15, e.g. copolymerised nylon. The reinforcing sheets can be attached to the top, or any other, portions of the tapes.
