Abstract

1507743 Valves BRITISH GAS CORP 22 June 1976 [25 April 1975] 17262/75 Heading F2V A valve comprises inlet and outlet chambers 3, 4 and means for closing a port 20 therebetween, said means consisting of a valve member 15 mounted on an axially slidable shaft 14 and operated by a flexible diaphragm fixed to the shaft 14 within a further chamber 2 and serving to close the port between the chambers 2, 3 when the port 20 is closed; a passageway 7 connects the chamber 2 on the side of the diaphragm remote from the chamber 3 with the chamber 4 and a perforated shield 18 is mounted within the chamber 3 around the port 20. In a second embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown) a second diaphragm is fixed across the port between the chambers 2, 3 and a second passageway connects the chamber 3 to the space between the two diaphragms.
