1507499 Dozers CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO 23 June 1975 [7 Oct 1974 (2)] 26593/75 Heading E1F [Also in Division B7] A mounting means 10, Fig. 1, mounting an attachment 46, e.g. a hitch or a push-block assembly, on the rear of an earthmoving vehicle 11 having a frame 12, comprises transversely-spaced brackets 13 and (14), Fig. 2 (not shown), releasably connected by pins 22, 36 to the frame 12 and to a cross-beam assembly 25 releasably connected to the frame 12 by pins 38, the cross-beam assembly carrying the attachment 46. As illustrated in Fig. 1. the attachment 46 takes the form of a hitch 47. A cover plate 39 secured to the brackets 13, (14) may be removed to give limited access to a transmission 43 of the vehicle. Increased access to the transmission 43 may be obtained by removing pins 36 and allowing the cross-beam assembly 25 to pivot about pins 38 until the rear end of the assembly strikes the ground. In the modified embodiment of Fig. 6, the attachment carried by the cross-beam assembly 25 comprises a hitch 67 mounted between push-block pads 64, 66. The hitch 67 is pivotally mounted for movement between the operative position depicted in Fig. 6 and a retracted storage position depicted in Fig. 7 (not shown).
