Abstract

1506941 Reciprocating pumps GEORGIA PACIFIC CORP 30 May 1975 [3 June 1974] 23613/75 Heading F1A [Also in Division F2] A hand-actuated dispenser, e.g. for liquid soap, comprises a wall-mounted support 26, Fig: 2 having a lockable hinged cover (10), Fig. 1 (not shown), enclosing a reservoir 30 receiving liquid from a replaceable container 4 and supplying the liquid to a pump cylinder 58 in which a spring-loaded piston 62 is reciprocated by a finger-operated handle 80 to deliver liquid to a nozzle 8 for discharge on to the palm of the user's hand. The piston face 64 is angled as shown and the piston is angularly adjustable so as to vary the point during its discharge stroke when inlet port 56 is closed, thereby adjusting the quantity dispensed. A window 34 permits viewing of the reservoir contents. Nozzle 8, Fig. 8, comprises an insert 118 with an axial passage 124 communicating with side ports 128 closed by a resiliently deformable sleeve 132, which is deformed to open ports 128 by the pump delivery pressure. In Figs. 11 and 12 (not shown), a tubular sealing member (140) of resilient material is located within sleeve 132.
