Abstract

1506776 Flexible hose INDUSTRIE PIRELLI SpA 22 May 1975 [28 May 1974] 22113/75 Heading F2P A flexible hose comprising a substantially impermeable corrugated seamless inner tube 1, a single tubular filling layer 2 of a deformable material which surrounds the inner tube 1 to cover radially outer portions 6 of the corrugations and fill cavities 4 between the corrugations, and an outer sheath 3 comprising groups of textile threads or metallic wires braided together around the layer 2 and thereby spaced from the layer 1. The sheath 3 may be mechanically anchored to the layer 2 and the corrugations of layer 1 may be annular or helical. An outer protection layer 10 may surround the sheath. The inner tube may be of a polyamide resin and the filler layer a compound of elastomeric material. A method of making the hose is disclosed.
