Abstract

1506419 Patient supporting tables; baths &c. H A V JOHANSSON 28 Nov 1975 49099/75 Headings A4J and A4N A patient-supporting table is provided with at least one pivotally mounted guard barrier 10 movable between an inoperative position below the table top to an erected operative position above the table top, the edges of a mattress 13 which is releasably secured to the table top and which is provided with a discharge outlet (14) Fig. 1 (not shown) being maintained in an upwardly directed postion by the barrier, when in the operative position, to protect against splashes when washing a patient. A spring biased latch 19 engages the edge of the table top to hold the barrier in its operative position. The mattress is secured to each of the longitudinal sides of the table top by hooks (16) Fig. 6 (not shown) engaging over the edge of the table top and secured to resiliently extensible material (17) secured to the mattress. The mattress may be of water resistant synthetic plastics material. The table top may be adjustable in height.
