Abstract

1505843 Activated carbon filter D A G MARSHALL 2 Feb 1976 [31 Jan 1975] 4272/75 Headings B1L and BIT A filter for removing e.g. ozone from air, comprises two (or more) superposed circular layers 10 and 12 of cellular material containing activated carbon particles 14 in open-ended cells which are out of alignment in the two layers, the outer faces being covered by circular sheets 18 and 20 of air-permeable material preventing escape of the particles, the sheets being held in place by circular metal screens 22 and 24, all being embedded in a surrounding circular frame 26 of synthetic plastics. A circular metal screen 16 and/or a sheet of air-permeable material may be sandwiched between layers 10 and 12.
