Abstract
1504650 Turbine power plant BBC BROWN BOVERI & CO Ltd 11 Nov 1976 [13 Nov 1975] 46951/76 Heading F1G In a turbine power plant part of the air compressed by compressor 1 is fed via line 2 to the burner 3 of combustion chamber 4 and the remainder flows via branch 10 to an oxygen producer 13 which supplies oxygen via line 14 to a combustible gas producer 15 receiving coal or oil fuel at 16. The combustible gas flows via lines 17, 5 to be burnt with the compressed air in combustion chamber 4, the products from the latter driving a gas turbine 7 powering compressor 1 and electric generator 8. The nitrogen removed from the air in oxygen producer 13 flows via line 18 and is added to the working fluid before, at, or after combustion chamber 4. The nitrogen may alternatively be used to cool the latter or flow via line 19 to cool the turbine stators. An additional charging set 11, 12 may be provided. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the combustion chamber heats a boiler supplying a steam turbine (24) driving an electric generator (25).
