Abstract

1504415 Folding apparatus GD SpA 9 June 1975 [14 June 1974] 24655/75 Heading B8R [Also in Divisions D1 and B5] A device for longitudinally folding moving strip material comprises a plurality of pairs of movable members, the two members of each pair being on opposite sides of the strip causing the strip to adopt a saw-tooth cross-section, the pitch of the saw-tooth decreasing progressively as the strip passes through successive pairs of movable members until the folds come into contact at guide means further downstream. The movable members may be conical rollers 6-9 and the guide means rollers 10, 11. As shown, strips 1a, 1b are cut from a strip 1 by a knife 2, strip 1b being folded and then combined with strip la to form inner and outer wrappers of a series of packages.
